Chapel, Gartnavel Royal Hospital, 1055 Great Western Road, Glasgow

The chapel at Gartnavel Royal Hospital, located at 1055 Great Western Road in Glasgow, was designed by architect J J Burnet in 1904 and is built in the Arts and Crafts style. It is oriented north-south and constructed of rendered brick with an exposed base course, voussoirs, and a brick north gable. The building features a six-bay nave and a four-bay west aisle, with a projecting porch on the southwest. The north side has a pair of lancet windows, while the south gable has three lancets. The remaining windows are bipartite and set under deep eaves, topped with swept slate roofs.

Inside, the chapel has dark stained timber dado panelling and a ribbed ceiling with a four-centred arch. The nave is separated from the aisle by a four-arch arcade. The south gable contains three stained glass lancets, and the north gable features two windows created by Guthrie and Wells around 1905. Both the nave and aisles have small lozenge-shaped leaded panes. There is also a memorial plaque to B Yellowlees made of bronze and marble, which has been relocated from the old dining hall.
