Fryers and Penman, circa 1903. 2-storey Edwardian villa in Scottish revival style incorporating Scots Baronial and 17th century Renaissance detail. Bull-faced red sandstone with ashlar dressings. Cill courses; string course, ashlar mullioned windows with stop chamfered arrises; crenellated parapet to projecting windows; crowstepped dormerheads to windows breaking eaves; masque decoration to 1st floor window aprons on N elevation; balustraded parapet with urn-like finials to dies to full-height canted windows on N elevation.

N (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3-bay elevation with 2-storey block recesed to right (W) and porch in re-entrant angle. Advanced ashlar porch, rope moulded surround, balustraded parapet, raised panel to centre with monogram SWD, 2-leaf panelled doors. Dormerheaded window to left above porch. Taller crowstepped gable to right of porch with full-height canted window. Advanced 3-bay block to left with bipartite window to centre at ground, finialled dormerheaded window above. Full-height canted windows of 1-2-1 lights to right. Full-height semi-octagonal bay canted out from left angle, regular fenestration, small bartizan in angle to right.

E ELEVATION: advanced 2-storey block to centre, canted window, dormerheaded bipartite window above. V-plan window projecting to right, similarly detailed bipartite window above, wallhead stack to right. Single storey and attic, single bay to outer left, window at ground, dormerheaded window above.

2-pane timber sash and case windows. Grey/green slate roof. Coped, red sandstone stacks.
