142, 144 West Regent Street, Glasgow

142 and 144 West Regent Street in Glasgow are earlier 19th-century houses that have undergone some later alterations. These three-storey buildings with a basement feature a four-bay design and are part of a terrace. They are finished in painted render with exposed sandstone at the basement level. A band course separates the basement from the ground floor, which is channelled, while a string course divides the ground and first floors. There is also a lintel course at the second floor and corniced eaves.

On the southwest entrance elevation, there are segmental-arched openings at the basement. A staircase oversails the basement on the outer left, leading to a two-leaf timber panelled door at the ground floor, which is framed by a pilastered surround with a dentilled pediment. The remaining bays to the right have plain surrounds for single windows at the ground floor. The first floor features pedimented windows with architraved surrounds and recessed aprons in all bays. The second floor has squat windows with plain surrounds in all bays.

The northwest rear elevation was not visible in 1999. The buildings have plate glass timber sash and case windows and a grey slate roof, with a corniced stack on the southeast and various cans.

The interior was not seen in 1999. There are plain iron railings at the stair and enclosing the site at the front.
