Description
Forth View is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built in the late 19th to early 20th century. It is constructed from tooled, snecked stone and features raised chamfered ashlar window and door surrounds, along with an eaves course.
On the northwest elevation, there is a central entrance door with a fanlight above, accessed by steps that lead up to the door. A bridge step overlaps an open street drain, and there are single windows flanking the entrance. To the right, there is a laigh door.
The northeast elevation is attached to Preston View, while the southeast elevation was not visible in 2001. The southwest elevation is connected to the Old Shoemaker's House.
The cottage has four-pane timber sash and case windows and rooflights. The entrance door is timber panelled, and there is a timber boarded laigh door. The roof is pitched and covered with slate, featuring gable apex stacks.
The interior was not seen in 2001, except for the entrance hall, which has a Minton tiled floor, a glazed inner door, and fanlights.
