5 Tanhouse Brae, Culross

5 Tanhouse Brae is a 17th-century, two-storey, two-bay house located in Culross. The exterior is harled with painted chamfered surrounds for the windows and doors.

On the northwest elevation, there is a central door with a window to the right, and a small square window above the door. There is also a first-floor window to the right. The threshold stone extends over an open street drain.

The northeast elevation is attached to Shoemaker's Cottage, while the southwest elevation is connected to Tanbrae House. The house features four-pane and two-pane timber sash and case windows, along with a timber panelled door. The pitched roof is covered with slates and has raised skews, with a curved skewputt on the southwest. The gable apex has stacks, with a replacement stack on the northeast and both polygonal and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 2001.
