Description
Fountain Cottage is a single-storey, three-bay cottage built in the later 19th century, located at a road junction opposite the church in East Saltoun. The cottage is constructed from squared and snecked, stugged stone, featuring chamfered reveals. The entrance is centrally positioned on the east elevation and includes a timber-bracketed gabled porch with a kingpost and finial. There is a window in each of the flanking bays. At the rear, there is a catslide roof over the original projection bay to the left, and a modern harled addition to the right. The cottage has sash and case windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern, purple slate roofing, overhanging eaves, and coped end stacks.
