Description

Probably Peddie and Walker Todd, 1931. U-plan group of 3 semi-detached local authority houses, single storey with attic in steeply pitched half-mansard roofs. Modern pivot sash windows. Brick base course, harling and grey slates.

3 AND 5, 8 AND 9: identical pairs.

E ELEVATION: 6 bays, mirrored about centre. 2 outer bays advanced at ground under sweeping eaves of mansard; doorway in penultimate bay flanked by small window in outer bay; recessed bays at centre breaking through mansard, with windows to each floor.

W ELEVATION: 4-bay. Doorways to centre bays, windows in outer bays.

N AND SW ELEVATIONS: gabled;chimney breast corbelled above ground at centre, with stack regrettably removed; glazed slit at ground at centre with window flanking to attic. Mutual gable stack retained.

6 AND 7:

E ELEVATION: 6 bays, mirrored at centre; 4 mansarded advanced M-gabled bays breaking through main mansard at centre. Doorways in penultimate bays with simple bracketted slab canopied; windows to each floor in centre bays; recessed outer bays blank.

W ELEVATION: 2-storey, minus lower pitch of mansard.

N AND S ELEVATIONS: lop-sided gable with mansard to E; set-off chimney breast to stack; ground floor window to E.
