Linkfield Cottage, 1 Millhill, Musselburgh

Linkfield Cottage is a single storey and attic cottage villa built around 1830, set within a high rubble walled garden. The main entrance features a lintelled door that is aligned with the main door of the house. The building has a symmetrical design with a central ridge roof, end stacks, and flat roofed wings extending beyond. The main section includes a central doorway flanked by tripartite windows, a slated roof, and two canted flat roofed dormers. The exterior is constructed of coursed rubble with raised quoins and margins around the windows and doors. The wings each have single windows, block cornices, and blocking courses. The rear elevation is also made of rubble and symmetrical, featuring three windows with smaller single windows in each wing. Throughout the cottage, there are sash windows with lying panes.
