Loch-Na-Gare, Shore Road, Rahane

Loch-Na-Gare is a cottage villa built around 1860, featuring a single storey and an attic with a three-bay rectangular plan and a service jamb at the rear. The exterior is constructed from rubble and whinstone, accented with ashlar margins and dressings, including whinstone and red sandstone, stugged quoins, a base course, chamfered reveals, and advanced eaves.

On the main elevation, there is a centrally located six-panelled door with a roll-moulded surround. To the right, a tripartite window at ground level has a gabled dormer head that breaks the eaves above. To the left, a full-height canted bay window also breaks the eaves, featuring a bell-cast roof topped with a lead weathervane finial.

The windows are a mix of four-pane and plate glass sash and case styles. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes lead flashings, along with sandstone ashlar ridge stacks that have four corniced octagonal cans.

The interior was not seen in 1994.
