Description

Earlier 19th century. Single storey and attic, 3-bay, symmetrical,

rectangular-plan cottage. Rubble with painted ashlar sandstone

dressings and margins to main elevation and red sandstone margins to side elevations. Projecting eaves; base course; quoin strips.

SW ELEVATION: 3-bay; deep-set door at centre, 4-panelled door with painted blocked fanlight, inner half-glazed door. Flanking windows; gabled dormerheads symmetrically disposed. Modern wooden and glass flat- roofed conservatory to outer right.

SE ELEVATION: flat-roofed conservatory at ground; windows symmetrically disposed at gablehead.

NW ELEVATION: gable, window at ground left, 2 windows symmetrically disposed at gablehead.

12-lying-pane sash and case glazing. Grey slate roof; rendered, coped apex stacks with octagonal terracotta cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1993.

GARDEN PAVILIONS AND BOUNDARY WALLS: circular-plan, garden pavilions at either end of sea boundary wall enclosing Inverallt and Inverallt Cottage. Rubble with harl pointing, timber eaves, conical slate roof with lead finial. Timber door and windows; 2-leaf, half-glazed, round-headed door facing into garden; round-headed, timber casement windows facing sea. Pavilion to NW full-height free-standing to sea, walls abut onto sides at garden elevation. Pavilion to SE corbelled on

seaward elevation, more projecting into garden. Boundary wall, rubble with alternating flat and semicircular coping.

GATEPIERS: substantial gatepiers of rubble with harl pointing, plain pyramidal caps.
