Description
Inverallt Cottage, built around 1840, is a single-storey, three-bay cottage with a symmetrical rectangular plan. It features a bay addition and outbuildings set back to the right. The cottage is constructed of whinstone rubble with painted red sandstone margins, and includes an eaves band, quoin strips, a base course, and overhanging eaves.
On the southwest elevation, there is a centrally located four-panelled door with a four-pane letterbox fanlight and flanking windows. A gabled bay is recessed to the outer right, where a modern window has been inserted. To the outer right, there is a two-bay outbuilding with a modern garage door in the penultimate bay and a narrow door to the outer right, also featuring red sandstone margins.
The cottage has twelve-lying-pane sash and case windows and a grey slate piended roof. It is topped with tall, rendered and painted wallhead stacks that are coped and have octagonal terracotta cans.
The interior was not seen in 1993. The site is bounded to the northeast by a rubble wall with semicircular coping.
