Description
Rowanbank Cottage, located in Low Aldochlay, Luss, is a single-storey cottage built in the mid-19th century. It has a rectangular plan with four bays, featuring a three-bay symmetrical design and an additional fourth bay on the outer left. The cottage is constructed from whinstone and sandstone rubble, accented with red sandstone margins and dressings.
The main elevation presents a three-bay symmetrical façade with a gabled porch that is set forward at the center, which contains a modern door. There are windows on both the right and left sides, as well as flanking windows. The cottage features tall gabled dormers, with a slightly recessed lower bay on the outer left that includes a single window at its center.
The windows are a mix of plate glass timber sash and case windows, along with timber 8-pane sash and case windows in the dormers. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and includes lead flashings. Sandstone corniced stacks with circular cans are also present. Additionally, there are hoop iron railings surrounding the property.
