Description
This mid-19th century cottage in Low Aldochlay, Luss, is a single-storey building with a gabled roof. It is constructed from rubble with painted ashlar margins and features rusticated quoins. The eaves are advanced and have painted bargeboards.
On the main elevation, there is a broad gable to the right, which includes tripartite gun-loop headed windows and a rusticated triangular pediment in relief above. To the left, there is a tongue and groove wooden gabled porch in a re-entrant angle, featuring a modern door and sidelights, as well as a window to the outer left. A modern lean-to cement-lined bay is located to the outer right.
The cottage has timber lying-pane and 8-pane sash and case windows. The roof is covered with graded grey slate and has lead flashings, along with a tall cement-rendered and corniced stack topped with a decorative clay can.
