Description
Rose Cottage in Low Aldochlay, Luss, dates from the earlier to mid 19th century and is a single-storey, three-bay cottage with a rectangular plan. The building is constructed from whinstone and sandstone rubble, featuring painted ashlar margins. It has bipartite, round-arched windows.
On the east (main) elevation, there is a round-arched door at the center, which is now hidden by a timber round-arched porch topped with a felt roof, flanked by windows. The cottage has timber sash and case windows with small-pane glazing and Y-tracery in the archhead. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, has lead flashings, and features low sandstone corniced apex stacks with circular cans.
