2 Silver Street, Dunbar

2 Silver Street in Dunbar is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house. Originally rectangular in plan, it was later modified to an L-plan by an addition to the west, which is not listed. The building is constructed of red sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings. The south gable features grey, stugged ashlar that is in keeping with the style of the west wing.

On the east elevation, there are small first-floor windows with chamfered arrises and wrought-iron bars. A later gable has been added over the right-hand bays. The south gable is a single bay that incorporates rigg walling at the base, and it has larger blind central windows with chamfered arrises. The west elevation is abutted on the left by the later wing, which is situated on a higher site. The house has no stacks and is topped with a slate roof. The plain ashlar copings feature gablet skewputts on roll-moulded corbels.
