Description

The Mercat Cross in Dunbar is a 16th-century structure featuring an octagonal shaft made of weathered ashlar. It is located at the re-entrant angle of the Town House to the south. The shaft has symmetrical cap and base mouldings, and at the top, there are three skewputt details adorned with carved grotesque mask heads. Additionally, there is a weathered remnant of a thistle finial.
