Description

The Market Cross in Bedale is a Grade I listed structure dating from the 14th century. It is made of stone and features a tall octagonal shaft that stands on a stepped octagonal base. Near the top, there is a chamfered projecting band, and it is topped with an octagonal capstone and an iron cross. This cross occupies a very important position in the town's landscape.
