Description
This is a house, now with two shops, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is located on the west side of Bedale Market Place. The building is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. It is three storeys high, with a three-bay front. The left-hand side has a bowed shopfront featuring a central, half-glazed door. Above the shopfront are pilasters, a decorative frieze, and a dentilled cornice. The right-hand side has a shopfront dating from the 20th century. The first and second floors are punctuated by recessed sash windows, each with a flat brick arch and stone sills. The eaves are stepped and dentilled. A stone coping runs along the top of the walls, and there is an end stack to the left, with the roof hipped to the right.
