Description

1 and 3 Market Place are a pair of houses, now with two shops, dating from the early to mid-18th century. The building is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with a pantile roof. It is three storeys high and has four bays. A cement plinth runs along the base. The shopfronts were added in the late 19th century and feature a decorative frieze and cornice. The first floor has sashes with glazing bars, while the second floor has six-pane sashes, all with flat brick arches. The eaves are stepped and dentilled. A stone coping is visible on the left side. A central ridge stack and an end stack are located on the right.
