Description
No. 17 Market Place is a house that has been converted into two shops. It dates from the early to mid 18th century and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a Welsh slate roof. The building has three storeys and five bays. There are two late 19th to early 20th century shopfronts. Bays three and five on both the first and second floors feature blind windows. The other windows are four-pane sashes with stone cills and flat brick arches, except for bay four on the second floor, which has margin lights and an opening that breaks into the eaves. The building also has a second-floor band, dentilled eaves, shaped kneelers, and stone coping, along with end stacks.
