Description
No. 25 is a house with a shop located on the east side of Bedale Market Place, dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a graduated stone slate roof. The building has three storeys and four bays.
On the ground floor, there is an early 20th-century shopfront and a door to the right. To the left, there is a six-panel door with an overlight and a flat brick arch. The first floor has four-pane sash windows with flat brick arches, with the window in the third bay being blind and the second bay featuring a 20th-century bay window.
On the second floor, the first and second bays have four-pane sashes with stone cills, while the third bay has a blind window, and the fourth bay contains an unequally-hung nine-pane sash. The building is topped with stepped and dentilled eaves, and it has ridge and end stacks.
