Description
No. 21 Market Place is a mid-18th century building that was originally two houses and is now used as a shop. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a machine-tile roof. The building has three storeys and five bays. The shopfront, which dates from the 20th century, includes a board door on the right side, set under a flat brick arch.
On the first floor, the two windows on the left are sashes with glazing bars, while the windows on the right are 20th-century 12-pane casements. The second floor has sashes with stone cills. The eaves are stepped and dentilled, with stone coping on the left side. There is a ridge stack and an end stack on the right side of the building.
