Description
78A, B, C, D High Street and 80 High Street in Dunbar is a late 18th century tenement building that stands four storeys high with an attic. It features a symmetrical six-bay design made of squared and coursed sandstone, accented with raised ashlar margins. The ground floor includes shops with a continuous cornice, and there are pends located to the left and middle of the building. The upper floor windows are arranged in groups of three, while the attic has dormers at both the front and rear. The roof is slate-covered, with ashlar gables and central chimney stacks.
At the rear, there is a projecting flat-roofed stair tower that contains winding stone stairs, which are complemented by decorative cast-iron balustrades and timber handrails.
