Description

Late 19th century. 4-storey 5-bay symmetrical tenement block with shops to ground; 3-storey 5-bay wing (harled) at right angles to rear. Squared and snecked stugged sandstone (harled to rear). Projecting cills; bipartites to centre bay at 1st 2nd and 3rd; segmental dormerheads breaking eaves in 2 outer bays to left and right; pedimented dormerhead to centre. Timber panelled door to close, giving access to open stair. Concrete access decks to rear with cast-iron brackets and railings; timber panelled doors to flats. Rear wing: curved stone open staircase to centre with concrete steps and cast-iron columns and hand-rail; concrete access decks with cast-iron brackets and railings; timber panelled doors with 2-pane fanlights to flats. Piend-roofed dormers (containing door and window to left and centre, window to right) breaking eaves at 4th floor (3rd to right).
