Rear Of 90, 92 High Street, Dunbar

The building at the rear of 90 and 92 High Street in Dunbar is a 17th-century structure. It is a long, two-storey block that opens on the north side of the close at the western end. The exterior is made of sandstone rubble, which was previously rendered and incised to resemble ashlar. The openings are arranged randomly, featuring a wide doorway to the west with a timber lintel and a blocked doorway in the upper part that used to serve as a window. The windows have been altered and vary in style; some are blind, while others have small-pane glazing or are secured with spiralled iron bars. At the eastern end of the close, there is a three-storey, two-bay house on the north side that adjoins the two-storey block and connects to the stair block of 90 High Street. Narrow lights are present on the first and second floors to the right.
