Description

This milepost, located on Milngavie Road in Bearsden, dates back to 1861. It is a small, single-stage, rectangular cast-iron post that is slightly bow-fronted. The post features embossed pointing hands, names, and distances. It is positioned at iron railings facing the junction with Kilmardinny Avenue. The post is detailed with the inscription 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 6' and 'BALFRON 13?', although the mileage is partly obscured by the raised pavement level.
