Description
There are two mileposts located on Drymen Road in Bearsden, dating from 1861. These are small, single-stage, rectangular, slightly bow-fronted cast-iron posts featuring embossed pointing hands, names, and distances in miles.
The first milepost is set into a low saddleback coped squared rubble wall at No. 200 Drymen Road, marked with 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 6' and 'DRYMEN', although the mileage is now obscured by the raised pavement level.
The second milepost is set into a high squared and snecked rubble wall, marked with 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 5' and 'DRYMEN 12'.
