Description
Schaw Hospital, located on Drymen Road in Bearsden, is a large building designed in the "Tudor Gothic" style, featuring pavilion ends and a prominent central tower. It was presented to Glasgow Royal Infirmary in 1895. The structure consists of two storeys plus attics, constructed of ashlar stone with slate roofs. It has pedimented gablets adorned with finials and weathervanes. The pavilions have splayed bays, and there is a large oriel window that connects the second and third floors of the tower. The architect responsible for this design was James Thomson of Baird & Thomson.
