Description

This mid 19th century milepost is made of cast iron and stands approximately 0.75 meters tall. It has a flat rectangular shape and is slightly curved in section. The milepost is painted white with a black border and lettering. It features a low relief of a hand pointing right towards Glasgow. Above the hand, in raised letters, it reads 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 21', and below it states 'BALFRON 2'.
