Description
This mid 19th century milepost is made of cast iron and is mounted on the front wall of 92 Buchanan Street in Balfron. The post is flat and rectangular, approximately 0.75 meters tall and slightly curved in section. It is painted black and white and features a low relief of a hand pointing towards Glasgow. Above the hand, the raised letters read 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 19', with 'BALFRON' below.
