Description

This milepost, located on McFarlane Road in Bearsden, dates back to 1861. It is a single-stage, rectangular, slightly bow-fronted cast-iron post featuring embossed pointing hands, names, and distances. The milepost is set into a low saddleback-coped bull-faced rubble wall. It includes detailed inscriptions that read 'GLASGOW ROYAL EXCHANGE 5', 'BALFRON 14', and 'ABERFOIL 21'.
