Description

The horse trough located on Mcfarlane Road in Bearsden was built in 1897 and relocated to its current site in 1973. It is made of pink and grey marble and features a rectangular basin set on a shaped plinth. The plinth is inscribed with the words 'UNDER THE AUSPICES OF GLASGOW AND W OF SCOT SPCA 1897'. Above the basin, there is a moulded splash panel that is inscribed with 'CA CANNY'. Additionally, there is a metal plaque that records the trough's relocation.
