Description
Garscube Bridge, located on Maryhill Road in Glasgow, was designed by Thomas Somers of Glasgow City Engineers and constructed by Considere Constructions Ltd between 1925 and 1929. This two-span reinforced concrete beam bridge crosses the River Kelvin, featuring segmental-arched beams, each spanning 84 feet 6 inches. The bridge has a plain moulded course that follows the arch line, along with a granite string course and a granite balustrade. The central pier and abutments are adorned with permanent pilasters that have advanced centres, which rise to form dies. The parapet and abutments are made of solid granite.
