Highhowe, 9 Carse View Drive, Bearsden

Highhowe, located at 9 Carse View Drive in Bearsden, is a building designed by J.H.R. MacDonald of John MacDonald Contractors Ltd. in 1933, showcasing the International style. This two-storey structure features a whitewashed smooth render exterior, a brick base, and brick sills, topped with a flat oversailing roof that has a deep fascia and railings.

The southeast elevation is asymmetrical with two windows and a curved east angle that includes six-light windows. At the first floor level, there is a cantilevered canopy with curved ends that extends around to the northeast elevation, which has a narrow V-oriel window above the entrance door, with fenestration arranged in recessed bands. The northwest elevation displays irregular fenestration, a porch, and a slim corbelled chimney breast. There is a later addition on the southwest side. The building has low stacks with brick coping and original metal lying pane casements throughout. Additionally, there is a roughcast garden wall with brick coping.
