Description
Tay Rope Works, located at 51 Magdalen Yard Road in Dundee, features a ground floor that may date back to 1837 or the mid-19th century, constructed of ashlar stone. The first floor, built around 1910, is made of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The building has a two-storey, one-bay entrance designed in a Graeco-Egyptian style, prominently inscribed with "Tay Rope Work" between battered pilasters. The side pilasters display inscribed Grecian details and wreaths, topped with a cornice. The first floor also includes a later addition of a Venetian multi-paned casement window.
