Circa 1840. 2-storey basement and attic villa, ashlar

front, coursed rubble sides and rear. 3-bay front with

advanced central bay, Doric columned doorpiece

approached by railed steps. Corniced ground floor

windows. 1st floor cill course. Eaves cornice and

blocking course. Piended platformed slate roof with 2

later consoled and pedimented bipartite dormers and

central small round-headed dormer. Large octagonal

domed cupola within railings. Gable end stacks. Some

glazing altered and 3 small windows inserted in rear

elevation.

Interior refashioned circa 1870-80: lobby ceiling

painted portraits of Gladstone, Disraeli, Burns, etc.

Fine stained glass inner doorpiece and stair window.

Pedimented doorpieces off hall.
