Description
The Red Lion Inn, located at 4 North Main Street in Wigtown, is an early 19th-century building that was originally a house. It is two stories high and has three bays. The exterior is made of painted rubble with ashlar dressings. The entrance door is located at the center and is modern, with windows on either side at the ground floor and above in each bay on the first floor. There is a pend entrance to the outer left. The windows feature a plate glass glazing pattern in sash and case style. The roof is covered with purple slates and has a stack on the left side, along with a zinc ridge and cast-iron rainwater goods. Additionally, there is a two-storey rear wing.
