Commercial Inn, 25, 27 Main Street, Portpatrick

The Commercial Inn, located at 25 and 27 Main Street in Portpatrick, is an earlier 19th-century building. It is a two-storey structure with a basement and features three bays. The exterior is finished in painted render and includes a modillioned cornice, rusticated quoins, and architraved windows.

On the southeast entrance elevation, there is a step leading to a central entrance that is framed by a Roman Doric columned and pedimented doorpiece. The entrance has a two-leaf timber door, with a single window aligned above it on the first floor. There are single windows flanking all floors of the building.

The windows are 4-pane timber sash and case windows, with 6-pane windows in the basement. The roof features a rooflight, a grey slate covering, stone skews, coped stacks, and circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1997.

The property also includes cast-iron railings at the street front, coped painted rubble boundary walls at the rear, and timber gates.
