Burnbrae, 23 Main Street, Portpatrick

Gannochy, located at 21 Main Street in Portpatrick, is an earlier 19th-century building. It is a two-storey and basement, two-bay terraced, mirrored pair of rectangular-plan houses. The house at No 23 has a rendered finish, while No 21 features a harled exterior, both with ashlar dressings. The building has a modillioned cornice, quoin strips, and painted margins around the openings.

On the southeast (entrance) elevation, there are common steps leading to a central entrance with paired timber doors and fanlights above. A unifying hoodmould with labelstops is present, along with two single windows on the first floor. The basement has flanking single windows, and the ground floor features bipartite windows, with single windows on the first floor.

The windows are plate glass timber sash and case types. The roof is covered in grey slate, with stone skews, a coped gablehead, ridge stacks, and circular cans.

The interiors were not seen in 1997, and there are decorative railings along the street.
