Description

Ivy Cottage is an earlier 19th century single-storey cottage with a basement and attic, featuring a three-bay bow-ended design. The exterior is made of painted rubble with painted margins around the openings and timber bargeboarding on the attic windows.

On the southeast elevation, there is a step leading to the entrance, which has a modern timber door. To the outer right, there are single windows at the basement, ground, and attic levels, while two single windows are located to the left.

The southwest elevation includes a modern timber and glass door at the center of the basement, with a single window above it at the ground floor. There is a small oculus beneath the eaves to the outer right, and another modern timber and glass door at the basement to the outer left, along with single windows at the ground and attic floors.

The windows are a mix of plate glass, 4-pane, and 12-pane timber sash and case styles, with a stained window to the left of the entrance and a small oculus on the southwest side. The roof is a grey bow-ended slate.

The interiors were not seen in 1997. The property also features boundary walls made of coped painted rubble along Dinvin Street and decorative railings along Main Street.
