Description

Inglenook is a two-storey house with an attic, built in 1776 by Archibald Paterson and later extended by Richard Park in 1886-1887. The house has an asymmetrical three-bay plan and features a harled base course, eaves course, quoin strips, and painted margins around the windows.

On the southeast entrance elevation, there is an advanced gabled entrance porch adorned with decorative timber barge boards and a finial. To the left of the porch is a timber door set into the re-entrant angle, with a single window in the center. The ground floor has flanking single windows, while the first floor has regular fenestration, with the central window positioned higher than the others. Canted dormers are located on the outer left and right sides.

The windows are made of plate glass and are timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, broad coped gablehead stacks, and polygonal chimney cans.

The interior was not seen in 1997. The property is enclosed by coped rubble boundary walls, with painted coped gatepiers located to the outer left.
