Mayville, 4 Main Street, Portpatrick

Mayville is a pair of terraced houses located at 4 Main Street in Portpatrick, dating from the earlier 19th century. These two-storey, seven-bay houses have a rectangular plan and feature a single-storey extension on the outer left. The exterior is finished in harl with a base course and painted margins around the openings.

On the northwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a pend at the center that leads to 6A. Each house flanking the pend has a central entrance with timber doors and fanlights above. The first floor has single windows aligned above the doors, while the ground floor features regular fenestration, including a larger shop window on the left for No 6. The single-storey extension to No 4 on the outer left has one window.

The windows are made of plate glass in timber sash and case style, and there are rooflights present. The roof is covered with grey slate and features a coped gable head and ridge stacks with circular cans.

The interior was not seen in 1997.
