Description
6 Bank Street in Wigtown is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, four-bay house. It is constructed from whinstone rubble, featuring polished red sandstone margins and quoins on the left side. The entrance is an off-centre panelled door with a fanlight, flanked by windows. To the extreme right, there is a pend door with a long bipartite fanlight above it. On the first floor, there are three windows grouped to the left, all of which are sash windows with 12-pane glazing. A sandstone lintel-band runs above the ground eaves band, which is complemented by an eaves cornice and a blocking course. The roof is slate, with sandstone skews, coped end stacks, octagonal cans, and two roof lights.
