Description
The Royal Hotel, located at 70 High Street in Nairn, is an early 19th century building featuring three storeys and a five-bay facade, with a sixth bay recessed at the north. The exterior is made of painted coursed rubble, accented by band courses and an eaves cornice in a contrasting color. The central entrance door is flanked by ground floor windows set in arched panels, with the window in the north bay located in a blocked entrance, all showcasing "art deco" glazing. The first and second floors have 12-pane sash windows, with cill and lintel courses above them. Additional architectural details include a cornice and blocking course, corniced end stacks, and a shallow pitched slate roof.
