Description
75 High Street in Nairn is a late 19th century, three-storey building featuring a four-bay block of shops with dwellings above. The structure is made of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings. The ground floor has an asymmetrical design, with a three-bay shop front on the right, a flat-headed pend near the centre, and two two-bay shops to the left. The lintels are supported by a series of cast-iron colonnettes that are engaged at angles and banded at mid-height with a simple moulded collar.
The upper floors are symmetrical, showcasing canted oriels with decorative balustrades in the outer bays on the first floor, which are situated under slightly advanced crow-stepped gables. A bracketed cornice above the paired first-floor windows continues as a string course. The second floor features paired windows with a raised wallhead, shaped gables, and giant angle pilasters topped with gableted finials. The building has corniced end stacks and a slate roof.
