Croftheads

Croftheads is a farmhouse built mainly in the early 19th century, accompanied by a steading. The building features whitewashed rubble with ashlar dressings, and the roofs are primarily covered with graded slates.

The house, which forms the southern boundary of the farm court, is two storeys high with five bays, although the two western bays are not original. A mid-19th century porch is centrally located on the original house, which has modern glazing and end stacks. There is a rear wing and outshots that lead to the courtyard.

The steading is relatively unaltered and consists of two L-plan blocks that are separated to the north by a driveway. The eastern block includes a tall barn and a cartshed with a loft in the lower returning range, while the other block is mainly single storey.
