Description
Newbie Mains is a 19th-century house, although it likely includes earlier elements, as indicated by a datestone from 1657 that has been re-set. The building is two stories tall and features a long southeast elevation that faces the Solway Firth. At the southwest, there is a transversely-set range with curved bays at two diagonally opposite angles, with the bay closest to the Solway possibly dating from the 20th century. The rear elevation has two additional gables. The exterior is made of whitewashed rubble and harl, with contrasting painted margins, corniced stacks, and slate roofs.
