Description
The Old Rectory is a house built in the early 19th century, with later additions from the 19th century. It features limestone rubble that has been brought to course and is topped with a Westmorland slate roof. The building has a central entrance and a later two-canted-bay extension at the rear. It is two storeys high and has six windows on the first floor. The entrance includes a six-fielded-panel door beneath a radial fanlight, set in a plain doorcase, and is flanked by sash windows with glazing bars. To the extreme left, there is a 20th-century half-glazed door. On the first floor, there is a four-pane sash window and a 24-pane sash window with thick glazing bars in the first two bays, while the other windows are also sashes with glazing bars. The house has end and ridge stacks, and the 19th-century extension to the left is not of special interest.
