Description
Fairview is a house built in the early 19th century, with a 17th-century rear section. It features ashlar and rubble stone construction topped with slate roofs. The building has a double front facing the road and stands two stories high, with coped gables and end wall stacks. There are raised strips on the sides and a floor band. The front has two upper 12-pane windows, one lower window, and a renewed canted bay window to the left. The central entrance consists of a 4-panel door with a hood supported by brackets. There is a similar door at the east end and two additional 12-pane sash windows. The rear range includes a south end stack and a recessed ovolo-moulded 2-light window on both the east and west sides, along with a curved stair tower on the west side and 20th-century upper casements. Inside the rear range, there are large central beams, a fireplace with a timber lintel, and thin timbers in the roof, which appears to have originally been designed for thatch.
