Description
The railway viaducts in Annan were opened in 1848 and carry a double track. The structure features four dry arches, with one arch spanning over Port Street. The viaduct is constructed from red ashlar stone, which is mostly channelled and bull-faced. The rusticated voussoirs are continued as channelled soffits, and there is a wide string course located below the parapets. Additionally, the outer edges of the viaduct are accentuated by pilaster strips.
